6th November 2010
Oxford Round Tables Charity Bonfire Display

In the past few years the event has attracted over 15,000 spectators who enjoy a full half hour display, funfair, food vans and the largest bonfire in Oxfordshire. Last year all records were smashed and the crowd was in excess of 20,000 (figures to be confirmed). To follow on from last years successful wicker man burning we saw the burning of a 26ft 'Ice Princess' donated by Oxfordshire Artist Dan Barton and designed by competition winner Joshua Webb aged 8 and made by Dan and friends. The crowd were entertained by fire throwers, drummers and morris dancers with fire. The atmosphere was amazing. Round Table Members spend the majority of the year planning for this huge event and on the day build the huge bonfire from pallets donated by local companies, feeling great pleasure watching all that hard work go up in smoke (so to speak). All proceeds of the event go to local charities and is run purely by volunteers of Oxford Round Table with help from Rotary, 41 Club and Friends.
